Looking at buying some lighter, faster, quick to engage, good at climbing (2000ft on a regualr basis with 4000ft once every month) and manages cross winds wheels for my Endurace CF SL 8.0 Di2.

Specially looking at the Zipp 303 Firecrest vs 404 Firecrest.
Do any of you own either and recommend them?

What would you think if I had my front wheel as 303 Firecrest and rear as 404 Firecrest?
Reason for this setup is to minimising risks for cross winds, I weigh 65kg .
Looking to use the new wheels with Contis gp5000 tubeless.

Happy to pay up to £1600, so any better wheelsets that are comparable I would be interested to hear of as well.

Current short list are -

ZIPP 303FC
Zipp 404FC
Split - Front Zipp 303FC, Rear 404FC

Open to other recommendations as well?

I've got 303s on my gravel bike but barely done 150 miles on them so can't comment on reliability etc.
I really like them though. Noticeably faster than the Hunt wheels they replaced. Do feel a bit twitchy in the wind though. Feel ridiculous on fast downhills when up to speed. Hope you have good brakes!
Running WTB resolute gravel tyres in 42mm and probably 1mph faster on the flat when compared to my previous wheels.
Are you sure continental are compatible? Might be wrong but I remember there being an issue with them.

I run Vision 40SC (40mm high) disc wheels on my gravel bike and the same in rim brake version on my good weather work bike

Also run a set of Campagnolo Bora Ultra 50's on my nice summer bike

The 40mm rims handle cross winds very well, the gravel bike gets used in winter every day and copes very well, the 50mm Campg Ultras not so much, quite surprising how much difference 10mm makes

Are you set on buying brand new? 2nd hand Carbon wheels can be had for very good prices, my Campg Ultras retail around 2k yet i picked mine up with very little use for £800

If your worried about warranty etc.. then the likes of CycleExchange offer 3 months to 1 year warranty on their 2nd hand items
