Just fit some new cranks and there is a slight rubing sound. I think it's the plastic sleeve that sits in the middle of the bb slightly touching the crank axle. It does wiggle a bit when touched.

There's no more resistance than with the old cranks. Bearings are smooth and all clean. Should I not worry? Or is there a tip to keep it centered?

Surely the plastic sleeve is held tight between the screw in cups? It shouldn’t be floating around loose.

You have got it all installed properly and the tensioner done up?

Is this a musical genre?

The plastic sleeve does wiggle a bit. Not alot, but it's not much wider than the crank axle. Checked the tensioner too which is fine. Got it in the workstand and can only hear the noise with the chain off.

Solved. The plastic sleeve of the bb looked a little off center and was rubbing the axle of the cranks. It wouldn't sit straight so wedged a small piece of folded paper under it to keep it center. Not sure why it wasn't sitting centered but doesn't rub anymore.

On a second check. The plastic sleeve just needed moving across about 5mm as it was only seated in one of the two bb cups. Basically, it's quite short and the bb cups are also quite short so it sort of floats in between. I'll keep an eye on it and hope it doesn't move again.

AFAIR, one side 'clicks' into the back of the BB cup and is held straight, while the other end is free to move to allow for 68mm-73mm BB width.

Maybe the fixed side wasn't secured.

That's what I thought but the sleeve is too short.
