anyone been and rode the course today ? how was it? what the DH bit like?
i'm arriving there 1st thing in the morning so won't get a chance to pre ride it.
I was down earlier registering. feedback ranged from "gruesome" to "WTF" to "thats gonna be hard!"
Solo pit area looks interesting. One EZup with 3 tables for 130 riders. No solo loos either. But there were 6 other loos for every one else. I hope more arrive before tomorrow!
I went and pre-rode and then came home! Doing Southern XC instead. The only dry bits are the ups, and a few areas of singletrack. Some areas are still wheel swallowingly boggy and people were coming off everywhere. Oh and a ditch you have to dismount for~?! wft, first few laps you could probably hop it ut after 4/5hrs you'd just crash.
Setup for solo riders looked poor as well, no way I was going to beat myself for 8hrs on that.
Shame really a bit drier and it would be cracking.
The course was that bad, but the soft ground was hard going. The boggy bits where all rideable if you felt keen! By the end of the day alot of them had dryer lines cut through. Another week to dry and yeah, it woulda been top.
I didn't find the loos an issue but a time limit or more of the bike washers was needed. It'd take 20 mins plus to wait in the que.
