Hi

I need a singlespeed rear hub for my commuter. Its a old Marin MTB frame with v brakes so the hub needs to be 135mm but doesn't need a disc mount. At the moment I have a deore hub with a SS spacer kit and 15t cog. I want a light cheapish setup, so the question is, can I save any weight by getting a SS hub and freewheel. The best option I can come up with is the Superstar Switch Evo (300g + Qr, cog n spacers, £60). I can't find a proper singlespeed setup that is any lighter! Any suggestions?

Cheers!

My head tells me it should be easy to make a superlight SS hub very cheaply, but I can't find one! Most seam to have heavy steel axles though the middle!

I need a new wheel for this bike because my really cheap pub bike has demolished its rear wheel so its getting the one off this bike. I'm just looking for a nice replacement thats not gona cost the earth and is nice n light. The bike currently weights 21.4lb ... not bad for a steel piece of rubbish I dug out the bottom of the shed!
