The Manager has just changed at the Bull. Alan finishes today. New couple taking over are supposed to be refurbing it but not sure when its starting so it "may" be closed. Black Dog down the road will still be open.

Depends on whether you want flat or short
That is probably the quickest though Georges lane to Belmont road would also work from horwich [ I assume the other way up B6226 to Bolton then right at pub- signed Belmont- is the quickest but it is ALL road] but I was planning on going up to the mast and Down San Marino as its the most fun way there.

Will mail you

Ok I have been over to 'research' the pub open / closed issue and can happily report that it will be open!

Alan the current Landlord leaves soon - Tuesday night is his last night and it will then be closed for 3 weeks...

Won't make it tonight chaps. I went for the weekend in Hebden Bridge, and seemed to have forgotten to go home again. Have a good 'un! 😀

Hebden is indeed like Brigadoon, but with more comfortable shoes.

See you in 100 years.

Going to be a quick turnaround after I get home. Could you get to Tod Station for 7pm to save a bit of time? Going to my house would be even better but you might not want to ride up the hill 😉

Indeed. It's suddenly very very dark around here...

Sorry folks. That may be my fault. As I wasn't riding I arranged a barby this evening instead.

I didn't think. Sorry!

I hear there's bonkers traffic on the M62, for anyone going that way... Just sayin'

Be aware of severe traffic disruptions and diversions in place for Junction 21 near Milnrow - both directions M62

I came home (Bradford to Rammy) via Todmorden. Few sets of temporary lights but not too bad.

Is that photo near Simister? If so, dump the car, climb over the barrier and I'll lend you a bike.

If that photo is at Simister Island then I better set off now if the traffic is backed up much further 😈

It starts at bang on 18. I've not moved far.

The lorry has just been carted past me in opposite direction. Didn't look pretty 🙁

You are about 150m from my house.

I'd wave but, as we have established, the trees are in leaf.

The wreck is at J22. I'd get off at J19 and go cross country.

Crikey! I've just had an epiphany. I have genuinely not been aware of this until now. No wonder you southerners lord it over us with your fancy technology.

Still rather hear first hand from a mate up a tree though.

I think that's how it works. Trees country-wide are full of underpaid Google staff with those funny 360 degree cameras on their heads.

It came out not long after regional governments spend a lot of money on trafficengland.com and trafficwales.com etc and is far better.

I'm sad. I'm meant to be digging up Susan's bush right now.

It's a large common box.

All true!

The M62 is ****ed!! Closed both ways until tomorrow morning! I've got to drive from Hebdon to Sale at some point. Oh joy!

In more serious developments, Mrs Binners gran, who was ace, has just passed away today. So I wouldn't have been riding tonight. It's TLC and raising a glass.

Look out for profits warnings from Yorkshire tea and McVities.

Have a good 'un chaps!

I thought Binners was having a BBQ...

Stealth edit - may now be inappropriate given Susan's grans departure... Sorry to hear of your loss mate. Condolences to Mrs Binners and the rest of the family.

Closed both ways until tomorrow morning!

I've taken tomorrow off work (got to see to Susan's bush), but w-bound was closed and e-bound had one lane open. Don't know what the forecast is for morning.

An Asda and B&Q lorry paired up to block 2 lanes that were being marked as closed - I chuckled imagining how this would send the usual driving gods into a filtering-frenzy and felt torn as to whether they were doing the right thing, but blow me, the traffic moved a hell of a lot quicker 😉

Pub contacted.

Pie fridge on "Magenta Alert".

Weather looks OK.

Apparently they've missed us. I can't remember the last time I did a MNPR from there.

The last time we went in and there after the BMXing and there was a lone, solitary pie in the pie fridge

You can quickly go off a place....

Can we have a "The Hills Have Pies" poster please?

[img] [/img]

I'll start the traditional MNPR thread on Thursday. This is just an appetizer in much the same way that the bike ride is only the starter before the pie eating.

After you left last night we had a discussion about possibly doing a 'one off' MNPR Road Ride in the next 2 or 3 weeks in and around the Cragg Vale area. It seemed like a well supported idea but what do you reckon?

Great ride Craig, Hope all survived San Marino after my desertion.

Just a note for the future - Chatting to the guy at the Ainsworth over a cooling Cornish pils and he's willing to get special nibbles (even pork pies) if we give him a bit of notice.

What's this about road bikes? Sounds like a purchase coming on.

Clearly we can't do a Monday Night Road Ride because then binners won't turn up.

Oh, hang on....
