Three of us have booked flights for a Moab trip last week in October. Next step is accommodation so any suggestions welcome

We stayed in kokopelli lodges just off the centre of town. They're kind of little self catering huts that almost seem like they were built by IKEA. They seemed brand new last October and were spot on for us. Shared BBQ in the courtyard in the middle of them all and a filthy sex pond/hot tub.

book as early as you can as Moab accommodation is expensive and sells out quickly

I've stayed a couple of times at the La Quinta which is alright and in town

Also stayed at Holiday Inn Express - pricier but better rooms

No Moab Hotels let you take bikes into the rooms in Moab

If you want to see the best of the riding out there, I can recommend Magpie Adventures. Mike the owner is a fantastic guy and superb rider. He knows every inch of every trail and takes some longer trips way out beyond where anyone else goes. You'll get the most out of a trip with him.

There's various motels there, incl Super 8 etc. If you have a lower budget, there's also a hostel (Lazy Lizard, IIRC). It's comfortable enough, and the money you save can go towards beer 🙂

Yep book early and check for the big weekend things that are going on (also don't forget to add tax on top of everything you see) Also if your out in October keep an eye out for the Rampage tickets it's a decent drive but worth it
