What's to get? It's a bike frame.

....and yes you probably are too old in general.

Not that local to Hebden. Of 11 of us on the TBC Wednesday ride last week, 3 were on mmmbops and another two have one at home.

Here's mine..

As for too old, I'm loving mine. Really getting a buzz from mountain biking again.

And I'm 52 in a couple of months.

Elaine anne, surely its just the fact that we are 'tight' northeners??

I know 3 peeps that have bought them cheap from CRC as replacement for steel On Ones. Another mate would have bought on as well but he's too tall to get a cheapy.

So now must be a good time to pick up steel frame?

Love these frames i built one up for my girlfriend. I took it out riding last week because my bike was in bits. I normally rock a 20" and the ragley is a 16", but still thoroughly enjoyed my ride (although probably looked a bit daft!)

I was quite tempted by that deal on CRC but given I've already got a BFe I couldn't really justify it.

the name 'Rodwell'- springs to mind too- (Rodwell End) (another Hebden name) ! i wonder if there are to be frames /parts coming out in that name too.
id like a Ragley, unfortunatly, they dont make tiny frames for 5ft tiny people !

Someone said new Inbred, someone on Bikeradar called it the new Zaskar which I liked. For me, it's possibly the new Soul, still need to decide if it's a keeper but it's damn good fun.

The mmmBop is being discontinued, so if you want one you'd better be sharp. I guess that they weren't actually that successful - too niche (or not niche enough)?

For me.. cheap fun as an alternative to my Anthem X.. built up from mainly used parts, it's a completely different animal - especially 'in the air'!

[img] [/img]

Just gotta build my confidence and technique up to make the most of it!

😀

god knows. It must be me as its the same . today on the ride it was slow to come back up to the top and needed a helping hand to return to the top. I Was going to add some air like teh 2pure man told me to last time but when i undid the screw oil was bubbling form the valve. So i thought thats it - leaky valve so i swapped the core and fine. Pumped it up and all was good. Put in frame, all good, pushed it down, it shot back up as it should and then hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss, no air now in the post!

New Piglet looks nice, quite fancy one of those.

Shouldn't it be 'downtube' instead of 'downtime' in the catalogue blurb though?

Happy to accept a 14 inch sample in exchange for proof reading duties. 🙂

Any sizing/geometry details yet?

sooooo im guessing the 'piglet' comes in size 14 inch then,- (otherwise any bigger ..it wouldnt be a piglet ) 😉
why are the mmmbop's going to be discontinued then ? any particular reason ?

mmmbop discontinued because of the Troof - a new 160mm alloy model.

The Troof does feel sometimes like I'm trying to make something look as odd as possible 🙂 Another colour will be available.

Ere, Brant, do you have a weight yet for a medium Pig X? Loving my Mmmbop but there's a little part of my brain that's missing the Soul's steel...

I'd like to know a bit about the 'Troof' aswell. Is it an 'allday' bike with the right build or has this been designed as more of a play/trail centre type ride, maybe its the look, it just looks like you had a specific idea in mind with it looking so different to the mmmbop. Also whats the minimum fork length recommended, still happy with my 140mm and dont feel i need more, but like the look of this...

Thinking about an mmmbop but I'm running 120mm forks. Plus I'm 6'3 so thinking I'm probably a little tall to fit comfortably on an 18" frame, now the 20" isn't available.

Any thoughts Brant?
