I have just found this on the walkhighlands forums and though somebody on here might know something about this. Seems a bit strange.
'Dougie and I were on a wee walk up the glen from Victoria Bridge this weekend.. At the top of the track, at the head of Glen Kinglass, we came across 2 bikes - nice ones, locked up with a very fancy padlock. I thought it was a bit weird that there were no bike tracks in the snow, and I wondered how long they had been there.
On the way back yesterday, they were still there, and we noticed the chains were rather rusty, so looks like they had been there for a couple of weeks at least.
So what happened to the people? Should I report it to someone?
Surely even if the people got caught out, and had to descend a different way, or cut their trip short, they would come back for the bikes within a couple of weeks?'
Contact the local rangers? Wouldn't shout too much about it elsewhere.
