He's apparently being moved to Lancaster Hospital today, it's much closer to his home.

thanks everyone ๐Ÿ™‚ I don't have the stamina to read that lot yet, and am currently learning how to walk in a a straight line again. As JC says, the most frustrating part is not being able eat whatever I like due to larynx damage after 2 weeks intubation ๐Ÿ™

So - does it take a heart attack to get a ban lifted? ๐Ÿ˜†

Best wishes on your road to a full recovery - glad to hear you're on the way back.

cheers

He was never given a permanent ban, he just sort of left the forum of his own accord a couple of years ago although he posted very occasionally on Lakeland ride topics.
Maybe the heart attack was brought on by stress of NOT arguing on here!

He's been active again on Facebook - moaning about hospital food. ๐Ÿ™‚

Try to Get. Well. Soon. I quite fancy making a comeback, and you were one of the few worth annoying.

update: I'm out of hospital and crazy-legs dropped me off at my mum's last night. I expect to be home tomorrow evening. I can walk but very slowly after losing 2st. mostly from my upper legs. I'll enrol in the hospital cardiac recovery physio programme and hopefully by December I'll be allowed to ride my bike along the canal ๐Ÿ™‚ The doctor's notes mention diffuse brain injury, but my memory seems to be intact and in fact my thirst reflex has actually been restored, where previously I'd only know I was dehydrated when I got a headache! OTOH I've lost my taste for chocolate and other very sweet things!

Wahey! He's back!!! Glad to hear you are back around. Remember, that loss of sweet taste is not a bad thing.

Good luck with the physical therapy too. Keep at it and good luck for your continued recovery.

I was going to post to say I'd given him a lift to his Mum's house but thought it was better him saying that himself. ๐Ÿ™‚

now just stay away from daytime tv!

He posted on FB earlier to say walked a whole mile down to Costa. Took him a while but it kept him away from daytime TV!

Here's to continued recovery.

I know you've probably done it already, but pin your Cardiologist to the wall and discover EXACTLY what caused your issues. They're often reluctant to go into detail, yet once you know the precise causes you can tailor your rehab to ensure the chances of a repeat are minimised.

Don't believe anything you're told. CHECK EVERYTHING yourself. The NHS is not what it was in my day.

Stay positive, keep smiling, hope to see you in the flesh one day ๐Ÿ™‚

It's amazing how the body heals, both physically and mentally. Take it a step at a time but shouldn't be long before back riding. Fantastic to hear you're out of the hospital.

I hope the second mile, back up from Costa, went ok too. Keep climbing out of the hole, sfb.
