When the suspension completely compresses the lowest part of the front mech hit the chainstay and then bends around it. Although the front mech still works fine it's taken the paint off completely and is biting into the alloy.... how can this be remedied?

If you are running a 2 ring and bash guard set-up you could fit a 2-ring specific SLX front mech. The mech cage is alot (so not likely to hit the chain stay)shorter as the biggest ring it is designed for is 38 or something like that.

Not sure what those Kona's come with though?!

Don't want to state the obvious, and may be missing something, but can't you just move the mech up a touch?

was it set up like this from new? If so then take it back to the shop and say 'sort it' and 'replace the damaged chainstay' ??

if you've fiddled with it since you bought it then just reset the mech so it doesn't hit

neil take it back to the shop, and ask "firmly" for them to sort it out for you . You have had it , what a couple of weeks ? Why wait until the 6 week check it could be a hole in the tin by then!
