I have a bike case. It's effectively new though I've had it a couple of years (insurance replacement after they managed the impossible and broke my old one !)
Trouble is it's too heavy for the new lower weight limits (case is 14kg or so empty) as I fly cattle class to california once a year and recently have been bodging up cardboard boxes. Given they clearly once dropped a jumbo jet on the old case I'm a bit wary of the carboard efforts
I'm wondering about drilling the case and stripping some foam to lose a bit of weight but obvioulsy might weaken it so much that it's useless (thing is, it's currently useless to me anyway ๐ )
Anyone been daft enough to try similar or have any stories on the subject (happy or sad) ?
fedex yourself the bike in the box?
use a parcelgo type site
lie about the dimensions
guy collecting doesnt care or check
guy delivering doesnt care or check
no-one in between cares or check
only the software that works out the cost cares
fill yer tyres and shocks with helium ๐
falkirk-mark, I'm filling the entire case with hydrogen - will helium in the tyres still help ?

Virgin'll take it for nothing if I can get it below 23kg
