Evening all.
Bit of a question about this dropper. If you follow the service guide here.

It says to put 20mm of 30wt oil into the bottom as it,s an open bath construction.
If i do this then the last 20-30 of travel disappears.?
Seems the void where the stanchion should go is full of oil?
I followed this guide and all is well as there,s no mention of said oil.

Any advice is welcome.
Cheers guys....

General consensus is that it should be 2ml, not 20ml, I believe.

I do the Waterman approach but after a we ride or a few week lift the collar and apply a little engine oil, it seem lighter than the chain lube and keeps it silky smooth. I now swear by it even for fork seals!!

Previously i also had a problem with it not releasing. If you get brake and clutch cleaner and spray a little on the release nipple under the remote arm under the saddle and press in 10 times turn upside down and press 10 times repeat a few time let it evaporate off and then put a drop of engine oil on the nipple. Obviously cover and seals to stop the solvent damaging them.

Hope this helps

Yeah, it's a typo, should be 2ml not 20ml. (the picture shows 2ml in the syringe)

There's been different versions of the KS though so one guide may not be right for all. Mine isn't sealed at the bottom so filling it with oil doesn't achieve much ๐Ÿ˜‰ But others have a different bottom plate design which seals.

Have not been aware of the oil application before, I think I remember seeing a thread about the oil somewhere else and as far as I'm awar its just the stanchion you lube??? I have taken note of the instructions

Cheers.I took the 20ml out after that and stuck about 4mm of tf,s lower lube in it.It runs sweet as a nut but was just wondering about this 20ml lark.
See you had your hawk eye on there Northwind...Missed that one. ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜€
