Had a few problems with my speedball post on the weekend, and as it might be dead I am looking at other options.
So I know a few people on here have got the KS seatposts, and I was wondering if anyone had got the non-remote version and managed to convert it to the remote type? as I have a lever etc so it could be a way to save some cash (especially if I get it from France)
I've got the non-remote version and was hoping I might be able to do the same, but there is a cable stop on he remote version that's not there on the non-remote one. Also the lever pulls the other way.
Might be possible to bodge something but I'm not sure how.
Hi Grumm,
Looking at this picture
Whats the underside of the clamp like? as I am wondering if I could fix onto the underside a metal cable end (using aradite/chemical metal) then run a cable in a plastic tube over the top of the clamp and fix it to the lever, do it pulls it upwards.
Sound possible? or is the lever quite stiff? or the clamp not have suitable fixing point underneath.
The lever isn't too stiff but I can't really see where you would attach the cable end on the underneath of the clamp, it's mostly just a slot that the bolt goes through.
Hmmm, looks like it be a non-starter then, I wonder how the are actuating the release button on the remote one, as from the pictures it seems to be pulling down, whereas your one is pulling up
I did consider a really ghetto attempt, where you could just run a wire over the saddle rail and back down and attach to the lever, to pull it upwards. Would still need some kind of cable stop though, but I was wondering if you could somehow clamp something onto the 'stanchion' at the top.
