The threads on my BB are no more so I've marked up space on the wall for my favourite ever frame. 🙁

Then I'm told there is such a thing as a threadless BB! Can I bring it back from the dead? What do I need to know? Has anybody tried one of these?

Or is my mate having me on?

You can also have a threaded insert made up and fitted to the frame - or the BB area built up with weld and the BB remachined and tapped

Threadless bbs are available just google for them - for example

Cheers TJ. That's about all I could find.

As a rough figure how much is the first option likely to cost?

I don't know but it will not be cheap - try one of the frame builders/ repairers.

Argos charge £65 for reaming and putting a sleeve in a frame.

I believe the Schlumpf Mountain Drive doesn't require BB threads, either.

Not a cheap option, though...

I've seen a few frames with sleeved bb shells from argos, and the job is top notch! Highly recommended!
