[Closed] Hydraulic hose - fitting Clarks hose to Shimano brake.

I'm going to be fitting Clarks hoses to some M525s because the old hoses are getting scrappy. The Clarks hose, which is advertised as suitable for M525 brakes, already has a banjo fitting on each end which appears to be crimped in place - M525s don't use banjos. Can the banjo fitting be removed, or should I cut 'em off and reuse the old fittings (olive and barb) on what's left of the hose?

Anyone have experience with these hoses ( http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=52552 )? Have I been lured into unnecessary hassle by silly colours?
