Due to lockdown and nice weather I've been averaging 4 times and about 130-140km a week. 100% MTB since April.

This is probably double my normal for this time of year....I tend to go from once a week in term time to nearly every day in the school holidays.... #perksofteaching

I'm already at 1900km for the year, which is way up in the last few years.

As I'm still working and haven't been able to get out with friends as much I'd say I'm only doing about 75% of what I was pre lockdown. I've been doing a few local rides with my other half otherwise I'd probably only be at 50% of my pre lockdown average. I need to make more of an effort to get out on the bike!

None. I have done pretty much the same as every other year for last 20 years. Creature of habit and cycle every Saturday and Sunday for 52 weekends each year plus Bank Holiday and the odd weekday here and there.

1000km in May alone. Lockdown might be a pain in the arse, but it sure is a good excuse to ride a bike!

I've done more than I ever have before.

Usual annual mileage is around 5000 but I'm on course for 4k by the end of the month so 8k if I keep it up all year.

Pre Covid I had some pretty tough events in the diary for this summer so was always planning to do some decent miles. Although they have been cancelled I've kept at it and the overall total has definitely been helped by being free most weekends during lockdown so have usually been getting a long ride in every week.

Loads, with working from home and all the extra family time I get as a result at the end of the day its freed up quite a lot of ride time.

Instead of getting up at 6, getting on the train and starting work at 08:30, I get up at 6, either go out for an hour or so or on the trainer and then start work at 08:30. Instead of getting home at 18:20 I'm already there and finished work by 16:30 so loads more time in the evenings.

This frees up more weekend time for longer rides and I've generally managed a good metric century each weekend before lunch time one day, so with all that I've done about 3200km since the start of lock down, which brings me to 4200km for the year so far and I'm averaging 1250km per month, I normally get about 4-5000km for the year.

I for one, hope I can continue working from home as the benefits for the kids and me are brilliant.

What I’ve gained from no longer doing lots of commuting hours has been swallowed up by the demands from the kids being home all the time, so no net gain here: if I can manage less than a fortnight between rides then I’m doing well.

A lot less. Whereas normally I'd head out and do say 70-80km I've only been doing very local 16-20km rides. I only did my first 100km ride on Saturday, normally I'd have done a 100 miler by February. I broke my collarbone towards the end of January and had my "we don't want to see you again" appointment ten days before lockdown! Ironically the consultant said "Take it easy for the next three months or so."

Given I did pretty much none last year (got a dog so switched to walking him as my main exercise) then despite only having done 749km this year (according to Strava) it's still 749km more that this time last year. That's all during lockdown and, apart from one ride in April, all in May and June.

My mileage is never going to by high though, as I'm onlu really doing 60 to 90 minute rides in the evenings.

After a poor start to the year, just over 2000km, currently around 550km per month, mainly road/gravel. Much higher than previous years but nothing to do with COVID, everything to do with retirement. It's part of my stay fit alive plan.

Much less, this time of year I'd be commuting 3-4 days a week (50k a day) plus chucking in an evening long route home at least once a week and a very long route home every fortnight.

Motivation just isn't there to get out when I'm not going anywhere.

I do try get out for a local blast once a week but it's just towpath stuff. And Zwift in the garage, but enthusiasm for that has waned a little.

Have been riding to the in-laws a couple of times, which is a longer trip, but realistically I'm about 50% down on milage.

Way more to the point where I Now have tendonitus in my hamstring / glute and have had to back off to three 1 hour rides per week. I can see my hard earned fitness disappearing far too quickly! Why didn’t I back off when I first felt the injury, I’m a slow learner!

Interesting, I'd assumed most people would be up, but I suppose no commuting and shorter local rides mean some will be down.

I've been doing more, but shorter. So rather than trying to do a 50/60km MTB ride on a Sunday, I'm going out for 3 or 4 shorter rides in a week.

The wife prefers it too, she doesn't lose me for most of Sunday, just a few hours here and there.

No big days out at all, but plenty of short rides from the door, around 15 miles each, all MTB. Usually three time a week. Found loads of new trails, too.

2200km about average, although been getting moody with the amount of work and hours logged on and being in too bad a mood to ride afterwards, when i'm out i'm happy, still not ridden cutgate this year. the weekends calling

I've done 2,000km this year way more than this time last year and all but 100 of that in the last 3 months, riding most days since lockdown. Almost all of this has been on the turbo trainer as we have been shielding. It's been a life saver and I've got into Zwift.

I've dropped a load of weight, upped my VO2 max and FTP.

I haven't done much outdoors cycling due to having the little one at home and home schooling, lockdown restrictions etc. Don't a lot of indoor cycling though as it is more convenient.

Last year at this time I had done 95 hours in total and this year I have done 135 hours in total.

Loads less due to not commuting. Don't really feel I can spare the time away from the family so just do 1 or 2 rides a week and the rest of the time go for pootles with the family or walks, maybe get a couple of 5/6k runs in.

Cycling has gone down though and weight has gone up.....

3/4 times a week here based on an 'every other day' approach where I can. Exclusively off road.

My opportunities for day rides have been limited for quite a few years now, so I'm not a big miles kind of rider, being focussed more on shorter, punchier, riding. I managed a mere 778km since mid April, but according to the Strava fitness guestimater, I'm approximately 5 times fitter now than I was in March, which I'll take.

ABout 95% less. No longer commuting and finding it a bit of a faff on an evening after work compared to going for a jog. I am immensely unfit, so jogging for 30 minutes is a massively bigger work out than cycling for an hour. Need to improve that routine, but making time around work is difficult.

Much less due to no commuting and home schooling combined with full time WFH. Running a bit more to make up for it in the evenings. Pissed me off all this "you'll have loads of time" stuff. I start work at 6 so I can pick the lads up at 12 from school (first week of them being back) then look after them til 3-4 when wifey takes over then make up my hours til 6-7. Was even worse when they weren't at school. Mother in law can't get her head round why we haven't done more on the house etc, really irritating....grrrrrr

700km down on last year due to a break in late February, but now picking back up.

Lockdown not really restricting it, have been blessed with ability to get out of door pre-6am so can do a nice wee morning spin instead of my usual commute, and weekend mileage is picking back up.

Once Scottish lockdown eases I'll be able to start doing some more ambitious stuff in July/August and have a 5 day gravel tour planned for September, so should finish year well ahead of last year (Which was curtailed in August anyway with a herniated disc).

Veloviewer graphs make interesting reading, seeing all previous years stacked on top of one another.

I was up more than 100% on business-as-usual level of riding during peak spring heatwave, but my Strava four-week average (all MTBing) is still quite good despite backing things off the last few weeks...

Last 4 Weeks
Avg Rides / Week 3
Avg Distance / Week 89 km
Avg Time / Week 8h 51m

Definitely a bit more than "normal" but can't say how much more as I have sacked off Strava for local riding.

Not having to do "morning stuff" has opened up early morning rides prework.

Working from home: Time for more outdoor rides during the week.

When I had to go into work there was no time as lunch breaks would end up being 30 mins.

Pre lockdown was about 25 miles a week outdoors and a couple of turbo workouts.
During lockdown I'm averaging 70 - 90 miles a week and about 8 hours.

Don't know exact figures but been getting out more often but less far so probably evens out to what would be normal. One thing that is different is that I have hardly used my road bike, almost all miles done on MTBs.
Normally it would be 50/50. This is probably because I haven't been getting out with cycling friends who are mainly roadies which proves I really do prefer mtbing

Same here, but in my case the incredible weather and dry trails played a big part.

Road bike will be coming out again this week I suspect.

1500km total in 2019, so far under 500km this year.

Well down - thanks to a horrible winter and lockdown.

May was the biggest month for me in terms of hours since I did LEJOG in September 2018!

Most months I average around 35hrs, dips in winter / crap weather to about 20, rises in summer / decent weather to about 50. Thing is, with not commuting (which was mostly by train anyway, I generally only rode once or twice a week), I can get out on the bike in the evening and it's quality miles straight from my door, not just churning up and down along the A6.

May was 900 miles (almost all road / gravel) which is double what I did last May. Had a fairly quiet start to June though.

Only 1000 miles this year - fewer miles YTD than any of the last ten years. Frequency of recreational rides is probably the same or better - I'm just not getting the commute miles in, or managing to replace them.

A lot less than usual - normally would be commuting pretty much every day, but not very good at motivating myself just to 'go for a ride' round in a big circle. Need a purpose! I have done a few.
(MTBing has been fab, going out with my son, but that's about the smiles not the miles and I get plenty of those from it.)

way more than normal and loving it. no idea of the mileage but out every second day. as i have my own business working from home, I've just been working as and when required - weekend or weekdays make no difference. and the weather and trails have been great.

being rurally based and quiet out has made biking even better, managed to explore places i'd never got round to previously. and nature has been amazing to see at its quietly got on with its own stuff during these weird times. being a bit of a fungi nerd - it's been incredible!

and finally, whilst biking is great for physical exercise, it's been amazing for my mental health as well. ill try to keep this going as part of my 'new normal'.

I did 2000 miles in total in 2019 (and that was with a lot of effort in December to get over the line)
I’m at 1950 miles so far this year. I was furloughed on 1st April and in the 11 weeks since then I’ve ridden just over 1200 miles and other than one or 2 road rides when the roads were nice and quiet, that pretty much all off road.
It’s the best job I’ve ever had.

EDIT: I will add that 2019 was the worst I’ve done in terms of yearly mileage since Strava records began. Usually it’s 3k+

lots more.

Been WFH since start of lockdown.

Turned commute time into exercise time.

YTD stats are:-

156 rides
4105km
53265m elevation gain

Mays weather meant I rode every day and got the following done:-

32 rides
1001km
15858m elevation gain

Did the Strava climbing challenge by 10th May.

I've just passed 1000 miles for the year, all offroad and bar a couple of rides, all on singlespeed. I think I did 1250 last year based on the fact I remember enthusiastically setting a strava target of 2500 miles for this year.

A lovely new bike and the 'luxury' of an empty evening and weekend diary means I am getting out about 4 times a week.

I've done way less because no more commuting. On furlough I've managed maybe 1 MTB ride a week rather than 1 a month (Warwickshire is a desolate hill-less wasteland and I can't afford to drive to MTB all the time)

Less than normal, lost my commute which got me 50km a week ish, also lost Wed group ride which would be 130km. Riding on my own I tend to get bored after 100km, so that's my longest rider. Averaging only 200km / week at the moment, although trying to get more in, targeting 300km this week (whilst working a 4 day week).

No furlough pay or self-employment grant as I’m a company owner/director, so I have to somehow make the money come in. Two small children, one of which needs home schooling, and a 7 month old baby who is ridiculously demanding in the day and not exactly a dream overnight; and a wife being driven to the edge of sanity by it. It’s a ****ing nightmare. Cycling to work the fun way is keeping me sane but that’s pretty much all I’m getting to do.

It does feel like this pandemic is making the life extremes even more extreme. The poor are even more ****ed, the rich are even more clueless about how good they’ve got it. And the ones with too much to do and too little time are even deeper in the shit whilst others have been enjoying the delights of lockdown boredom.

A bit less - YTD is 2144km vs 2577km at the same date last year so down 433km. I'd usually commute 3 or 4 days a week then ride one day at the weekend. WFH full time and only getting out for a ride a couple of days a week plus weekends at the moment. Sleeping a lot more - 9 hours a night in bed, though sleep is interrupted so not feeling great hence not feeling the urge to get up early and do a
fake commute as I keep considering

Probably some way under 50% of my usual due to work increase because of Covid. Loads more time in the car jealousy watching people smashing the miles in the glorious sun. Suffice to say that even if there is a race season at some point this year, I'll be waiting till next year.

I've measured in activity hours, as distance varies too much depending on the balance of road vs mtb. That split is influenced by whether I've got any mtb or road holidays planned, which bike has received some shiny new bits, and general weather conditions: I'm more inclined to go out a road ride in wet weather (less time cleaning mud off bikes & kit) but more likely to go offroad when there's risk of ice on the roads.

On that basis, I'm at least 15% up for January-May as it's been my busiest in the last 5 years (108 hours vs a previous best of 98 in 2016). I had only done 57 hours by this point last year, but that's partly due to recovering from an injury.

I expect I'll only finish slightly up for the year overall. July-September usually sees a lot of time and miles with at least one week-long holiday of some sort, and I've had to cancel my European tour plans this year. Keeping a close eye on when the UK campsites might reopen to provide a substitute.

I've been doing almost 150 offroad miles a week since I've been furloughed.
Thats a hell of a lot more than I managed last year.
Also dropped from 95KG in January to 83 KG.
Not going to the pub after every ride seems to be the main reason for dropping 12KG.

A lot less than usual – normally would be commuting pretty much every day, but not very good at motivating myself just to ‘go for a ride’ round in a big circle. Need a purpose!

I struggled with this, but I started noticing the difference in mood and physical feeling of wellbeing if I just got out for an hour every morning or second morning. That became purpose enough, almost like taking my morning medicine! 🙂

Of course, once you're actually out then you don't need any more motivation, early morning rides in particular have a magic of their own that justifies all the bleary eyes getting up at 5am.

At least double what I've been doing since stopping cycle commuting (due to broken spine). WFH and tend to pop out for an hour around lunch, or before/after work. It's paid off as I did a ride with two mates recently and instead of getting dropped/them having to wait, I wasn't far behind my fast mate, the other mate was struggling. I think just getting out regular has got the fitness back as I was 5 days a week, all weather cycle commuter, but getting splattered has meant I don't road ride anymore. I'm doing about 25 hours a month, and I tend to avoid weekends and bank holidays as the local 'tracks' are busy with walkers, as everyone seems to be 'out', far more than normal.

Everyone has been really friendly, not had anyone moaning, other than a little old lady saying slow down - we were out somewhere north of Oldham, coming down a wide un-made track, and the lady was sat outside her house, so we were at least 3m away. Wouldn't have minded, but two of us were going slow, because we were trying to tell a mate the pub we'd just gone passed was open.... by the time we got him, we didn't fancy the slog back up.

You're dead right. First few WFH weeks, I was doing nothing. That was getting me down, so I made sure at the finish of work, I got on my bike, or went for a run... For some reason I've let that go, so yeah, will start it up again. Ah, just remembered why! I decorated my bedroom!! Yeah, that's finished, so back to the "get out" routine. Yes!

Just signed up to Veloviewer too...and surprisingly I haven't actually ridden that much further, but you can see its lots of small regular rides and its missing the larger rides, and multi-day trips where you can see the ladder effect of repeated long riding days.

It has emphasised how my riding drops off after summer, I go through periods where I lose interest, particularly big efforts.

I've done about the same as the last few years but the big change for me is doing it all since lockdown on my mtb. About 2500 miles on it so far and 5000 miles cycling in total this year.
When I first started riding a bike I never thought I'd ride anything but an mtb, then I got in to road stuff and cx and never thought I'd go back to mtb. THEN, I bought a Scott Spark last August. My God I love it! My roadie friends have got the hump and I now feel a bit Billy No Mates but at the moment there's no going back!

Was still working up until the 18th May in my main job so was still commuting most days with normal length rides on my days off so it didn't change until then. Since I have been furloughed I've gone from ~65 miles a week (32 commuting, the rest MTB somewhere) to a minimum of 100 miles on the hardtail every week without fail plus a training session on the turbo 1-2 times a week. Has slowed down slightly as I've taken a part time job to get some extra cash but even working 3 days a week I'm still knocking out 100 mile weeks without particularly trying! Does help that I usually have a 2-3 hour time slot in the morning or evening on the days I work to knock out a turbo training session so every day off is a local loop of 20 miles minimum. That's with an off day once a week too.

Usually get up to 2800-3000 miles every year according to Veloviewer, projected to get 4800 at the current rate! I have noticed that my bike fitness is going through the roof too, much stronger on the climbs and much less tired after a ride too. If lockdown eases off enough around September time and I'm still furloughed or made redundant from my main job then my original goal of a SDW attempt this year may well still be on. Who'd have thought a worldwide pandemic would leave me fitter and stronger!

The last 2 months I've done over 600 miles, I've just done a ride that is the 93rd day in a row 😱 total so far over 1700 miles all on knobbly tyres.

Significantly up this year- 110 rides, 3286 km, 98 663 m ascent so far

Typical year is 5-6000 km, 100-120 000 m ascent so distance up by about 25% but climbing up by 100% reflecting rather more MTB and rather less road riding/commuting this year
