All,
I want to make my bike slightly better at going downhill, well give me more confidence, so I'm looking to get a shorter, higher rise stem with the view that bringing the bars back and up will get my weight back.
I appreciate that making the stem shorter makes the steering "quicker", but how does changing the rise affect the steering?
IIRC I currently have an 80mm 6degree, I'm looking to get a 70mm 20degree.

weight further up and back ish.
less front end grip in corners...

Shorter stem's and taller front ends move you'r weight back.
Great for a straight line downhill, crap in a corner.

I wouldnt get a higher rise stem, but 80mm is about right for the UK.
what bike is it and set up?
