I dunno if it's because of the apparently low bb on my Pitch, and that I tend to ride loose rocky trails quite fast and clumsily, but it seems to take a real beating.
Got some nasty dents/gouges out of the frame there - I'm assuming that area is going to be built pretty tough? Doesn't seem it goes through at all, but there are some reasonably deep scratches.
My Whyte 46 is now 4 and a half years old. It looks like Ive shot blasted it. Its the swingarm where the chain sometimes hits thats worse though. But Im not bothered. A few dents and scratches are not going to weaken it.
i have two frames with dents in the downtube near the bb from rock strikes. other bikes now wear a bit of old tyre down there. the bb shells look like they've been pebble dashed, but it's a chunky bit o tube down there, so i'm unconcerned.
