Is there a trick to increase the bite point?
My lever is about 20mm away from the grip fully adjusted..

Take the wheel out, squeeze the lever once and put the wheel back in. Done.

Firstly are they properly bled? As per the Hope video, needs to be done with the bite point adjuster wound right out. Make sure you do the last bit in the vid with the reservoirs pointing down.

I found the easiest way to set them up was to wind the BPA all the way in, then back 4 notches. Adjust the reach to suit. Then start playing around from there. There is more than enough adjustment to suit anybody, but they don't seem to work so well if you adjust them really close to the bars

Wheel out is only a quick fix. Proper bleed is key. I like to finish my bleed by pumping the pistons out a little. Do the vertical thing, then open the blanking plug on the lever and push the pistons back and expel the excess fluid and any trapped air.

I run two sets and spanner several others for friends. I find each caliper has Its own natural pad clearance. The BPA is best thought off as a tool to bring them in line rather than a personal preference thing. I also like to set them so the pivot and roller are perpendicular to the bar at first contact so the levery action isn't an exaggerated falling rate.
