Ok, I have been looking to get a new bike for about 4 weeks and have been going around in circles.
Budget £1000
I cycle to commute and occasional weekend trips - sometimes hit the the odd grassy/off road section. Do I need the new style 'adventure road bikes' that Evans are pushing everywhere or do I just need a sturdy road bike with good tyres?
Currently looking at Pinnacle Arkose 3 2016 model (if I go adventure style) and the GT grade 2016 model. Pinnacle also have a good Dolomite top end that is a more classic road bike. I am happy to try other bikes/brands if anyone has any suggestions? After a few test rides with other models I don't want go below shimano 105 or equivalent and disc breaks (ideally hydraulic/hybrid but I only have tried a couple...)

2015 Arkose 4 is reduced to £1060 at the moment.
Would you push the Arkose 4 over the newer 3 model?
I won't say either over the other, just pointing it out : )
