I need to replace the press-fit bottom bracket on my 2015 Cube Stereo 140 Super HPC TM 27.5. I'd normally leave this sort of job to my local bike shop, but its workshop is fully booked for the next month (argh). No amount of internet searching has shed any light on what size/model I need (more argh). Can anyone help? If it's of any use, the bike is running a Race Face Turbine Cinch 1X crankset.

Thanks paton. Is there no simpler way of determining this? From the looks of things, I'd have to strip down the BB to take all the measurements, which I would rather avoid, as I don't want to waste riding time waiting for the new parts to arrive (and risking that I took incorrect measurements!).

You should be able to measure the width of the shell, just turn the bike upside down

PF41 will basically have all the BB inside the shell (frame) except for a small lip.

My guess is it's this one you need for PF41 shell with 30mm crank axle - check the Q&A, this answer from CRC staff (Hope use same 30mm axle as Turbine Cinch)

Yes, the 2015 Cube Stereo frames would seem to use a PF41 (Press Fit 41mm) bottom bracket shell so, this would be ideal if you are wanting to combine with a Hope Crankset.

I have the same bike, and almost the same crank...

It's a BB92 frame and the crank axle is 30mm so needs a PF4130 BB. Any of these:

- Rotor PF4130 (currently out of stock at CRC though)
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/rotor-pf41-steel-bottom-bracket/rp-prod130501
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rotor-Unisex-Adult-Bottom-Bracket-PF-4130-Steel-Normal-Black/174355129800

- Hope PF4130 (no better than the Rotor but more £, and also out of stock at CRC)

There are also other (Wheels Manufacuring, Tune, CeramicSpeed) but they are just lots of £ for the same thing basically.

woah this is strange, local lad bike needs a PF BB for the same bike as coolbeanz.

Can you change PF to threaded?

You can press in cups like this...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/J-L-BB86-BB92-BSA-Bottom-Bracket-Conversion-Adapter-Convertor-/291665713628

But it'd be too wide, by about 20mm. Once you'd screwed in the threaded BB cups you'd need a really wide crank axle.

So no, in effect.

Quick follow-up - What's the best tool to remove the worn bearings from the frame?

Will the tool under the link below be sufficient?

I think that will just remove the bearing but leave the cup in place but July only experience is with pf30 BBS.

I used a headset removal tool that is like a hollow tube with 4 prongs and a hammer. You can also carefully use a punch and hammer

The bearings press directly into the frame in my case, so there are no cups to worry about... I think.

Kinetic bearings do some pf41 for a 30mm spindle ( DRF 3041-2RS ) for £18.50, just fitted a set to a YT jeffsy running e thirteen cranks, not ridden yet but a lad I know managed to get around 2 years out of the same bearings, I got around 4 months before the e thirteen originals were completely seized
