Hi guys i need some advice Ive just ordered some xtr disks and they are is mount 160m .The problem however is my bike is postmount, does anyone no what adapter i need to make it work and if so a link to a website?
thanks
Bruce
IIRC Shimano discs are all PM with an adapter if required. My LX, SLX and XT are.
Do the brakes come with rotors? If so, you will need this adaptor-

It means you can keep using the 160mm rotors.
yeah they come with 160 rotors so will that adapter work?if so thanks and they are deffinately is mount atm...they're on my bike.
XTR calipers still come in IS and post mount versions. If you need to fit a IS caliper to a post mount fork, then Hope make the adaptor you need (part number HBSM20H) but you will have to run a 180mm disc...that Giant one above looks similar and I'd be very surprised If you can still run a 160mm rotor with it
You say your bike is postmount, but in a subsequent post you say the brakes are IS and they are "on your bike". So are you looking to change to a postmount fork and need to know if the brakes will convert, or are you just confused with all the crazy standards? This will help us to help you.
When I posted it, it read back like it was a little bit blunt. This was not my intention, I'm just trying to get all the info I can in order to help you out.
Pace and love to all.
No i meant that i have xtr brakes on a bike atm....but not the new one and need adapter for 160mm post mount to post mounts,
sorry and thanks
Bruce
No need at all for an adapter when running a post-mount caliper on post-mount forks and 160mm disk, just bolt it straight on.
oh man Ive just got them they are is mount, so its is mount to post mount frame adaptor i need
