Been running HD's for a while, rear is a bit draggy, but loads of grip. Start of summer switched the rear to a Rock Razor. Which has been, well, interesting. Mega quick, but braking has been a bit of an experience.

Was thinking about putting the other HD back on for Autumn, but got me thinking to having something a bit faster rolling. Read a few good things about the new Nic's but looking for feedback from anyone else that has ran this, or similar combo.

I've been running that configuration for a few years now and completely happy with it. I tend to run high pressures, well if you consider about 35 or so PSI as high with tubes. The front is pretty rock solid regarding grip, the rear can be loose on hard bumpy surfaces - classic case is at Cannock trail centre over the pebbly trails, but though it can skip about I trust it 100% to always bite so am just used to that loose rear end feel over certain surfaces. The HD again might sometimes loose grip instantaneously, but it always bites in the end - gives you a bit of a scare for a split second, but again, i'm used to that. I use it all year round in any conditions and over all surface types - life is too short to change tyres to suit the conditions/surface. They're OK in mud but can clog up in really deep thick mud.

I'm sure there are better options out there but i'm happy with the HD/NN combo, they're a very good all-round option for 'All-Mountain' duties, predicatable and i'm just used to them.

Yep, SG trailstar HD on the front with a 2.4 snakeskin pacestar NN on the rear. Running about 34psi in the rear tubeless, but I am a fat lad.

Reasonable rolling with plenty of edge grip for me, nicely predictable when it does break away too.
