just bought a yt noton with the hammerschmidt crank and just s few queries. When in overdrive the mechanism makes a ratcheting noise and a horris noise if back pedalling, is this normal I've palyed around with cable tension and can't find anything in the manual. Also in the manual it says that it is compatible with 7,8 and 9 speed, is anyone running one with 10 speed?

Yep, the noises are normal when in OD. Works fine too with 10sp. Ran mine briefly with 10sp set up before my narrow wide chainring arrived.
