Anyone know how long Halfords usually take to supply the Cycle 2 Work vouchers? My flex benefits run 1/1 to 31/12 and the HR guy submitted the payment for the vouchers to Halfords on the 1st of January, and two weeks later I'm still waiting on the voucher. HR assure me they've chased them up and they're "in the post"...
it basically means by the time I get the voucher and order the bike, it'll probably be February before it arrives, meaning I've had the salary deduction for January without the use of the bike!
I think the official date is when they can be arsed, or a week either side!
Our plan closed on 12/12 and details were sent by HR the next week (apparently). I'm certainly not holding my breath, or expecting to ride my new bike before mid-february.
Matt
HR made a big song and dance about not submitting the payment to Halfords before the 1st as there was no way the company was going to give up the cash in advance, yet now two weeks later, I'm giving up the cash with nothing to show!
Also be aware that the delivery times on lots of the bikes are pretty slow too. I will make my third payment on Friday, and still no sign of the bike...
The bike I wanted was in stock so they held it for me whilst the vouchers came through which took a week IIRC.
I called them but the person on the phone told me there's no way they'll order a bike until I have the voucher in my hand 🙄
I had a similar experience last year. I had three payments taken off before the vouchers arrived although to be fair to Halfords they managed to source and deliver an Orange Prestige within two weeks. I also go the "lost in the post" excuse when I was chasing things along.

Arse, I was going to try that tomorrow 😥
I might mither HR though, just for kicks you understand.

That certainly isn't the case!
