Probably a silly question but looking for a tip on a good all purpose grease with which to lovingly maintain my hardtail. As a random purchase I picked a tube of TF2 lithium grease from an LBS (was all they had) but have since noticed on the website that it seems to have specific applications.
Any ideas on something suitable for seatposts, threaded bits and the like?

Big tub, lasts ages.

I just use Silkolene Pro RG2 grease, find it cheap as your local (motor)bike shop. Use what you have for those job, some waterproof stuff would be useful next time, but not essential.
I'm sure I've heard that lithium stuff aint good for suspension forks, as it 'balls' (clogs) up IIRC, but it's fine for everything else.

Whilst were on 'greasing' the bike, I found the Dualco mini grease gun (see evans & others) is very good grease gun.
