hi all,
bought a new winter bike with tubeless tyres 3 months ago. have not got a flat in that time and am now a convert. I wanted to change my full sus too but have ran into a few snags.
1.it has mavic 321 rims which are 28mm wide and all of the conversion kits that i have looked at are either 25mm or standard width (what ever that is, does anyone know of any wider ones?
2. can i run high rollers tubeless?
any advice welcome,
john

Just wrap a few layers of electrical tape around the rim to cover the spoke holes. Stick your HRs on with some sealant and blow 'em up (easiest with a compressor) and you'll be good to go

EDIT oh you'll need tubeless valves of course,

I use Gorilla tape in 1 inch width . only £4 on ebay . 1 layer is enough . cut valve from old tube , washing up liquid on tyre sides and sealant .

Stans kit for the 321 is the rhyno lite one
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/stans-no-tubes-rhyno-lite-tubeless-kit-prod18828/
Issue i have seen and the reason i didnt get the kit is the 321's are at the cheaper end of the mavic rims and as they are only pinned (not welded) the joint can pull apart a bit at the top of the rim. This is apperently fine to ride on but means they will not seal tubeless

I haven't done a 321 but I got absolutely nowhere with a 719 and just tape- I could inflate it, though that wasn't easy, but I couldn't run it at a reasonable pressure and go round many corners before the tyre rolled straight off. The rim profile doesn't look very different. YMMV of course...

Oh, on a less opinionated front, tubeles kits don't usually care about external rim size, only the internal. Which for 321s I would have assumed is 21mm (Mavic website doesn't say).

I think you need the Rhyno kit

O so it seems I can do it then. What advantages are there apposed to slime tubes as it seems weight won't really be that different with all rime tape and slime in there

This tubeless thing has troubled me for some time now.

I have heard that you cannot run very high tyre pressure when tubeless.

Being a Fatty I need high pressure to keep the tyre shape ( this may be why I end up getting so many punchers)
