First time I've ever cut down a bar, but 785mm is a little excessive for the XC bike - 750mm is much more realistic.
Where did you get the bars from?

flipping how far away are your shifters from you grips ?
Do you have really massive hands ? Or do you never change gear
Personally I'd take the shifter windows off and move them in board if you want your brakes that far out.
What bb is that?
Fwiw I absolutely hate really wide bars - in fact, anything much over 26" - i find it's uncomfortable and makes my bike feel like a barge but then everyone has their own preferences.

I had those levers as well, and you cant take the shifter windows off, and you have to have them far away from grips so you can have the brake levers in a good position.
