Has anyone ridden one of these yet (not just around the car park)? If so any opinions. I really like the look of it, would love to have a go on one but just a bit concerned about the special fork offset and custom shock.

I rode a Roscoe 3 on Sunday. Climbs really well, pretty good on the flat and fantastic when you point it downhill. Would happily have one as an all day/big hill bike.

Hi Jupiter,

We have a demo bike in store, but we also have a Gary fisher weekend coming up when you will be able to ride Roscoes (and other Fishers) - with Gary!

I have a roscoe1, Its taken a little bit of time to get it set up so that I'm now happy with it.
first to go were the original tyres using mud'x' at moment
front end now nicely bedded in (felt funny yesterday, turned out rebound set to slowest!!??)
no probs with rear (fantastic)
pivot bolts come loose so need checking
I also have a Hifi which climbs better than the Roscoe but downhill its the Roscoe all the way

I've given one a thorough test - I usually ride an Specialized fsr120, so that's what I'm comparing it to…

- Climbing at least as good, despite quite a few extra pounds.
- Very very solid feeling, confidence inspriring - feels a bit like you just can't fall off it.
- Tyres a bit ott for me - huge volume, very round, but quite small blocks - still worked ok
- Fork offset and all that - isn't it enough to know that it has been well designed? At least there is a manufacturer that specifies the offset to go with the head angle, whereas everyone else makes-do.
- Stability is excellent - you can pretty much take your hands off at any time.
- Not aware of any rear shock issues, but do know that it certainly works in practice.
- If I had one I'd be changing the saddle and grips to my usual faves (same for any bike) and I might change the stem, just because it looks out of place next to the very chunky top tube.

Get a test ride - you may well like it. Try something else as well though, I'd say - 140mm is a lot more travel than is strictly needed virtually anywhere in the UK.

My mate has one on order (I think so) after riding a demo at the weekend. He really rates it!! Took it for a ride around to Whytes Level. Very nice downhill.

Have you checked the new Trek Remedy?

I rode one over a weekend in Afan last year. Loved it. Really stable, and despite relatively long travel at 140mm it was certainly no hindrance on the climbs. It's most likely to be my next purchase.

nb. i rode it standard on those big xdx 2.4 tyres in some very wet conditions. was really surprised how they gripped despite the small, low profile nobbles. don't knock 'em till you given them a try.

I know Paul Swinnerton demo'd one a while back at GT, HE RATED IT VERY HIGHLY, he normally rides a Remedy 9.
I rode the HiFi Pro last year and have to say it was pretty impressive, Mr Fisher does seem to have his angles worked out....just needs someone to sort the graphics.....

I tested one at Cannock the other week. I know it's not the best place to test a bike like that - I would love to have tried it on my local Peaks trails, but here goes anyway:

I think it's the most fun, most stable and most confidence inspiring bike I've ever ridden. Climbing was ok, not amazing, but not bad. Contouring and descending, I just couldn't get it to go fast enough, or find big enough things to drop it off (in my own head they were big - probably not). I loved it.
