Just changed from a PC to a new Mac. Downloaded the mac version of the communicator plug in and installed it
Tried plugging both my edge 500 and 800 into the Mac and it doesn't reckonise either? They won't go into the upload mode and just show as charging?
Tried different USB cables with no luck. What am I doing wrong? Lastest firmware on both edge units??
Help??
What browser you using, mine wont work on chrome but is fine on safari. Try installing the plugin again, i had problems in the begining but worked after a while.
I'm the same, only works with safari. Chrome and Firefox will not recognise my 800.
Just using the latest version of safari which came on the mac. I presume its the latest version as its only a week old...

you did all the updates when you set the mac up? just saying, just because it is new doesn't mean you have the newest software, although to be honest there hasn't been an update to the OS for a little while.
Its Version 6.0.2?
Can you see the garmin in finder?
They take a while to show on the desktop from first plug-in. Wait until it shows and then try.
Its Version 6.0.2?
i think that is the current version.
No can't see anything in finder, I've left it plugged in for 30mins and it just charges.
Like I say it's both my 500 and 800.....
mine wont work on chrome but is fine on safari
Not just me then. Used to work fine on Chrome but stopped some time in the Autumn.
No problems here with an 800 on Safari, or Crome.
nice to know I'm not alone....I've had to resort to firing up windows in virtual box just to upload my rides !
I have not been able to upload a route From Garmin Connect for months to my 305 and this happened after they updated to web site a while ago. I know other people have had the same fault. Chrome did work to get one route on and then it would ot work either.
I think there is a Beta fix update some where on the web some where from what some one said.
Have you access to a windows PC? Sometimes the directory structure on the Garmin gets scrambled and plugging it into a PC will run a directory repair routine from Windows. Macs don't do this for Garmins.
