[Closed] Fox Float RP23 - How tough?

I'm thinking of getting a Ghost AMR 5900 that comes with a Fox Float RP23 rear shock. My concern is that i weigh over 16 stone and ride aggresivly with a lot of big jumps / drop offs meaning the rear shock is going to take an absolute pounding - is there any history of these failing under heavy use or am i worrying about nothing?

If you're going to be bottoming out a lot, you can get a Push 'big hit' kit which is basically a big elastomer which ramps up the end stroke:

I think the ghost runs a low leverage ratio on the shock so it dosnt work too hard
Should be ok I reckon
EDIT taken from 18bikes
[i]AMR has a true four-bar suspension design with a 2:1 leverage ratio that yields perfectly balanced travel front and rear. Sealed cartridge bearings at all pivots help too.

2.1 leverage ratio, it will be fine

And they run needle bearings on the top shock pivot, they look nice too...

Pretty reliable, as long as you keep up with you air sleeve maintaince and get a full service on time.
See how you get on with it before going for a tune or change the shock for a coil unit.

Our RP23 on the back of the tandem runs at almost the max 300psi, with 2 of us (significantly more than 16 stone) jumping up and down on it. No issues at all ๐Ÿ™‚

I weigh more than the op and never had any issues with rp23's. Not even close...
