We will be in touch
Hi all,
I've got a few days spare at Fort William mid August this year. I'm scratching for ideas on mountain routes/days. Other threads leans to there being not much out there. That can't be right?
Im planning on doing a day on the lifts, but that's it. Have a car so I can travel but not too far ideally.
Any ideas?
Cheers.
I don't know their exact whereabouts but plenty of the dudes of hazzard stuff up there, think you start from the north face car park. Have you looked into kinlochleven? About half an hour drive south of fort William (towards Glencoe) and once again, plenty there
Aye, Kinlochleven is god's own trailcentre. Hard riding, and soggy generally, but awesome. Put it this way, the Ciaran path constantly appears in lists of "UK's best trails", and it's not even in Kinlochleven's top 3.
I quite like the other waymarked riding at nevis range. It's not especially great but it's got a lovely feel to it. And there's huge amounts of offpiste, I only know a tiny amount of it like the Blue Crane and some of the diversions off the reds.
Do not under any circumstances ride the waymarker 10UTB route, it is shite and really does the race no favours. There's good riding on it but you can include it all in a lap of the witches.
True. In KKL for a couple of days prior. There does look like there's a heap of wild riding there....
cheers.
What sort of riding are you looking for? I noticed quite a few trails running off the last fireroad heading down into Glen Nevis on the WHW into Fort William when we done it. They looked super steep and tech if that's what your after.
Hi Aldo,
yeah that sounds like what I might be chasing. Something natural and steep. Had a quick look on Google Maps thought and could see nowt. Don't suppose you could send us a screen shot?
Cheers.
