My cousin wants to upgrade his bike a bit and is looking to upgrade the forks on his Kona Blast. Does anyone know the maximum travel he could sensibly put on this frame? stock is 100mm however he is looking to do some rougher biking so is looking at 130 - 140 mm forks, is this way to much for a frame like this?
I don't really know much about the build of the more trail orientated frames that Kona do, are they built like tanks or will a longer travel fork put too much stress that kind of frame.

Cheers

Rusty

What year of Blast is it?

I've got a 2007 model with a 85-130mm revelation fork. At anything over 110mm it's very floppy on the climbs so I wouldn't like it that way permanently.
