[Closed] Event/Race Insurance?

HI, was just about to renew my Cycling UK membership mainly for the 3rd party insurance - but see that it will not cover events.

Just about to enter my first enduro race and probably will do a few more over the coming year - can anyone recommend a company / broker?

With recent cases, I'm more concerned about public liability, my bike sailing through the air and hitting a bystander etc.

Surely the race will be covered for 3rd party cover?

As ^. If you race you should be with BC for all the insurance benefits.

Well that worked out ok - already had a free BC Bronze membership from some offer earlier in the year, just upgraded to Silver and it's cost £11 until the end of May next year 🙂

Sorry to break this to you - but that won't work. You are only covered for BC insured events, with commissaires, some kind of standard risk assessment etc.

BC don't insure Enduro events (er unless I mised an email somewhere, not impossible).

You should probably check with the event organiser re what their event insurance covers, and what you need to get for your own purposes.

Ah - yes, sort of got that impression after I'd done it 🙁

I'll check with the organisers but it's one of the PMBA oes so I'd like to think that it's all legit - either way, at least I've renewed my standard 3rd party liability
