Ok, i've upgraded my Pitch Pro to the level that i once hoped to get it at ๐Ÿ™‚ (With major help from the classifieds on this forum so thanks)

The next upgrade i can see for it, as buying upgrades and spending money appears to be a new found hobby, is a frame. Now i absolutely love the Pitch frame, but wouldnt mind making the bike lighter without changing my current components and so the next step up i see would be a carbon enduro frame (Not the new 'X' style, the older type).

This choice is down to it visually being very similar, and from what i've read up same shock length etc.

Is there anything i'm missing out in this thought that should slap me in the face? Is Geometry very different on them? I'm planning on running single crown forks on them as i'm not a big fan of the E150's.

Basically just wanted to know if theres anything im missing from people who have done the same, or enduro owners that have recommendations. My bikes currently set up as a hardcore all mountain ride really, border lining on the 'freeride' classification.

I've followed the Enduro/Pitch debate for some time. I nearly bought a Pitch last year as a supplement to my 04 Enduro.

From what I can gather the Pitch has a reprofiled rocker linkage with a slightly different leverage rate. Apparently, this together with the Fox shock make the difference. Whichever bike is "better" is a moot point (and one for Enduro/Pitch owners to debate at length) but from the sounds of things you've got your Pitch pretty much dialled.

The Pitch will take a Lyrik/36 but I don't know if the frame is warrantied for a double crown fork. Maybe that would be an easier/cheaper upgrade?

Well it's more the weight issue i want to address.

I dont feel the need for a dual crown fork, which is why id want to swap over to a single if moving all parts over to a carbon enduro.

The leverage rate is an interesting point, i'll try and look into that a bit further.

Overall it was whether there's a down side to swapping over to a carbon enduro frame. As everything else seems similar/or a positive

Can you not save weight on your current build without compromising performance? IMO changing frame purely to save weight, and hoping it'll feel like your old bike is a recipe for disaster!

Interested in the suggestion the Pitch is somehow 'better' than the Enduro, the whole point of it was that it was intended as a budget Enduro. You may find it feels similar, but it certainly won't feel the same.

On the weight front, the E150 is a lot lighter than you think! In fact, suprisingly so!

njee20 - Is it me that has made that suggestion? If so i haven't meant to word it that way, i udnerstand completely the Enduro is the higher range model which is why i'd like it as an upgrade ๐Ÿ™‚

I completely understand that the component change is by far safer, but i thoroughly enjoyed building my last bike up in which the frame and forks are now the only stock item. However the components i have suits my riding perfectly, and the bike could be rode as it is. I'd just quite like the upgraded model with a weight saving?

Captain- Completely i've actually read about how light they are in comparisent to what people have presumed, but i'm just not a fan of their look, for some reason dual crown forks on an all mountain bike just don't seem right. (Vain i am aware, but we do spend a lot of money on these things so i think it's justified ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Just before it's mentioned as well... yes i am also in the process of losing weight myself so you can leave that comment out ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fair enough! I'd try and keep you open to it, especially as there are some great frame/fork/post type deals out there on the Carbon Enduros with the E150SL if you look around....!

I had noticed that a few went up recently, always in the exact point when you can't quite afford them ๐Ÿ™‚

pitch geometry is the enduro geometry in its slack setting.

The rocker link is subtly different (the enduro reputely is a stiffer bike)

The pitch was cheep because they built it out of bits of other bikes so no/minimal new tooling required.

I tested an Enduro with the e150 before I got my Pitch, and it was good, but I honestly prefer the feel of the Pitch. Difficult to put a finger on but the Pitch feels a little more 'hooligan-like' going downhill. (Yeah please take the piss out of my silly terminology now :P)

I specifically bought a Pitch over the Enduro because of the forks and shock.

Ok, it appears a lot of people are coming out of the woodwork to defend the E150 forks, which is to be expected with the Enduro in the topic of conversation.

But please note, i am not slagging these forks, or saying 'what you have are crap' etc etc, I just personally do not wish to have them on my build ๐Ÿ™‚

So... if the pitch is a slacker geometry, is this going to result in less fun downhill on the Enduro? I do have DH Bars and Stem, this help?

The reason for this, going down is what i ride for it's where i get my adrenaline, the uphill bits are there purely for me to come down again, they're not fun for me ๐Ÿ™‚ So id rather the bike be 70% downhill and 30% up then the opposite way round.

I'll also be running an RP23 on the rear? Any problems doing this?
