after a riding break for a long weekend.
i would like to go when the chairlift is open!!!
does anyone have any experience of the place? riding and accomodation, may be going with 1 or 2 others for dh/trailsy type riding..
The chairlift runs all year round but is a pain to use as you have to remove your front wheel for every lift. It only gets you to about 2/3 trails. There are loads of really good dh trails in the area which are van upliftable if you get someone to show/guide/lift you.
I've been before and the riding is great but would reccomend doing an organised trip somehow to get the best out of it. For a long weekend the trails you can get too might keep you amused though.
chairlift sounds an arse!!!
i wont have access to a van as i will just about scrape enough money to get there/pay for lift/accomodation.
are the trails easy to find?
Alan at sierracycling can help you there. He is just along the promenade in Fuengerola
I went on a Globespan(twice) package deal with the wife and then got the train down to Alans place, hired a bike/guide for a couple of days.
Benalmadena is just typical Costas, all fish & chips with mushy peas guv!!!
You can get the train from the airport all the way down the Costas. They do not like bikes tho, after Eta(?)blew up a train a few yrs back ๐
thats fine im not looking for a cultural weekend just some good riding and a place to kip!!
i'll look into sierracycling in a moment.
cheers
From memory the trails from the lift are pretty easy to find, you can see 2 of them on the way up. There's a shop in the town who'd help you out I'm sure.
nice one cheers, i'll have a dig around, i have plenty of time
I went there once for a weekend sans bike. I walked up to the chair lift, didn't see a biker at all. I thought Benalmedena was a shite hole btw.
