Summer hols coming up and I need some 6wks of medical cover, having become rather prone to accidents this year. Ahem.
I dont need bells and whistles extreme sports cover as I dont need flight cover, or equipment cover. Just medical bills/ambulance/mountain rescue. The medical clinic in Morzine is private so you cant claim on EHIC, but it's the most likely place I'll end up to have some stitches put in for example. A more impressive trauma would see me taken to Thonon hospital which would be covered by EHIC.
Anyone got any ideas for insurance providers?
Best ask WorldClassAccident who he uses (that's if anyone will take the risk).
Adventures insurance, basically pj hayman who have done mine for 10 years under various guises. If you're one of the pedalcover fan club then Darren can broker it as long as you're not doing the really nuts stuff.
Alternatively you can get rescue insurance there for a pretty low daily rate. No cover on the medical side though, which yes will cost you a bit if you have an unexpected trip to the cabinet medical. I had to nip down to the Les gets one last week... Amusingly in my sat nav the French cabinet Medicals have the icon of a dollar sign in a suitcase.. Pretty accurate!
cheers nick!
will check them out.
TBH Im half inclined to "self insure", since major trauma will be covered by EHIC.
What's the Les Gets medical centre like?
The Morzine one is quite shiny and new and easy to find.
