So heres the situation got a couple of days of work and was planning Glentress tommorow only to discover that spooky woods is STILL under snow and slush. What my best alternative ?.

Pentlands
Lammermuirs
Carron Valley

Any other suggestions would be great...

GTress's still pretty good without Spooky Wood - the 1st 2 table-tops after the 'picnic tables' are off-limits atm anyhow, 'resurfaced but too soft with recent weather'. Everything below spooky is fine, the free-ride bit's fully open, if getting some jumps in is yer thang. The blue routes are a laugh anyway, esp. down from Buzzards Nest.

Quite tempted by Inners or the Traquair XC course but would be better doing it with someone as Im not the best drop off rider in the world and would hate to come a cropper on my own . Are all the inners downhill tracks pretty severe and for a newb what is the easiest one to attempt?. Also I take it the traquair XC would be snowy at the summit as it looks to get pretty high on the map.

The top part of the climb is still bad, there is a shortcut to the landrover track that you can ride up to the trail again.
It's all clear otherwise.

Beginners DH trail would be 'make or break/brake'. It is great fun.

What day are you coming up?

Inners is snowy up the top, but take the minch moor short cut, you will be fine after that.

The drop offs all have a chicken route round the side, and Caddon bank has the biggest ones.

As for the DH routes, Make or Break is the easiest, rest I would say are well beyond a newb, especially on your own.

Going up tomorrow and possibly somewhere more local on Tuesday. Might just do Glentress as there is plenty to entertain me even without Spooky woods . It will give me a chance to do the stuff at the bottom that I normally ignore.
