These ones pingle and tinkle if I am in a steep hard climb. Normally I'd think they were loose but they are pretty tight.
How old is the wheel?
Dunno, fairly old.
If it 2as new, I'd think it hadn't been destressed during building. If it's old, maybe there's too much flex. Maybe it needs a retension
My 9 month old Sapim CXRay flat spokes have never twanged or pinged.
You might find that where the two flat pass against each other when they cross they can sometimes ping or creek.
I had it and it took me ages to work out where the wheel noise was coming from.
Talked to my LBS who advised cleaning the gap between with a good cleaner and then waxing the cross over point, not oil for some reason and mine has been silent since.
Of course your maybe different but might be worth a go

Yeah I know spokes ping when they are loose, where they cross over. But these appear tight, so my question was if flat spokes do it more than round ones.

I second what fatbikeandcoffee says. I have some DT swiss wheels that do this and was advised to give them the occasional toot of WD40 or similar. Will prob give waxing a go to see if it lasts longer.

Doesn't help that the spokes seem to be painted, and there's a touch of rust where they cross. Hopefully this is only surface rust...
