any locals around, has the snow cleared? Have a trip planned but not sure it’s worth the (quite reasonable) travel if it’s not running well, as I can do slow and wet more locally! Phoned and they said snow is still on the road but they haven’t assessed the rest.

Doubt it. Still big drifts impeding traffic on the lans just outside Cardiff. They'll have had more up there and it will have a) not been cleared and b) been much less warm during the thaw.
They had much less snow West so you might try Afan or Brechfa instead?

The MTB ranger for South Wales posted yesterday that Cwmcarn was still under snow, but that Afan was clear.

Still snow drifts on the hill just behind Cardiff.
