just getting the commuter out of hibernation and replacing the driveline. as its almost exclusively used on the road now (save for some weekend towpath stuff) i've gone for an ultegra cassette with slicks.
chainrings have a couple of thousand miles on them but whilst looking for replacements (94PCD rings are ****in expensive!) i found a very good deal on a 105 chainset so....

perfect and looks good

but alas just a smidge too tight

the BB is a narrow road one (as standard from that frame) and is only 109.5mm wide so i could go up a size and get a bit of clearance but will that give an unworkable chainline? (assuming i could live with the increase in Q factor)
alternatively, is a road triple likely to be any better??
or.....does anyone have a source of 94PCD chainrings that are not £35 each??
its probably only going to make minimal difference when on the large cog at the rear. wider bb should be fine.
I think you should be fine with a wider BB and the chain line would be ok as the double would be as far as out as the outer two rings on a triple.
I might be full of crap tho...
longer axle on the BB should sort that.
I'd go with new BB. You only need to move that chainline out a few mm
which would be fine. I've done it before and it's been ok. Chainline is less critical if you've got mechs and things as you often don't run a straight chain depending on your gear combo.
