So i grabbed some Amazon / Rockbros riding glasses, super cheap, photochromatic clear... i already like them more than my super expensive Oakleys

Anyway, they came with a lens insert, and my plan was to get some lenses for my short-sightedness and see how that works.

I had assumed i could just order some online and fit them myself, this doesn't seem like how it works...looks like i need to give them to someone to make and fit lenses?

what's the absolute cheapest way to do this? companies? cost?  i don't know if i will get on with the inserts you see

thanks

Just use contact lenses if you can? Sure its a constant drip of cash but its 90p a ride for me... And they don't bounce around at all, which is one of the single biggest improvements I've had to my MTB skillset in 30 odd years of riding.

Inserts can be a bit of PITA - they're much closer to your eyes than normal lenses are and depending on the design of the insert and frame, possibly angled too, which make getting the lenses for the insert right a non-trivial thing. They also seem to suffer with fogging up much more than "simple" glasses and are harder to wipe because of the small gap between the 2 lenses.

(I've not used them, but mates who do are continually faffing with/moaning about them)

yer, I won't be wearing contact lenses, that's a definite no go for me

glasses wearing is generally reserved for driving only, occasional gigs...

I used inserts on my Adidas evil eye glasses and found them to be a pain most of the time. Got so fed up I only used them in dry conditions and when they wouldn’t steam up and went with direct glaze and have stayed with direct glaze since.

I got my insert reglazed, Can't remember exactly who by or find the order in my inbox now, but it was pretty cheap IIRC. loads of outfits online, just make sure you have your prescription (inc PD).
