We will be in touch
About to make a start on setting up the above on a nuke proof mega am 275.
Has anyone found the 20psi guide to be anywhere near close to give 30% sag? Seems I need way less air v than that
Never heard of the 20psi guide but I reckon 10psi per stone of body weight + another 20 for the bike would be a good starting point.
Just do it by sag. Don't forget to consider the progressive leverage ratio - 25% sag is 14.6mm, not 15.75mm. 30% sag is 17.5mm, not 18.9mm.

At this point I'm wondering what your using to measure sag with to 0.1mm accuracy
Thanks Dave much closer. You're not running the same by any chance are you.
Digital calipers - doesn't everyone? 😉
At most a ruler. The difference of 0.5mm can be down to the size of your morning evacuation... Back to the just because you can measure that accurate doesn't mean you need to or should do.
Don't worry about how much air it takes, just set the sag, ride it, see if it works for you and you like it, the pressure's just a means to an end so it never really makes sense to go "how much pressure for X sag", it's easier just to adjust the sag then note the pressure.
I've just got a banshee rune with a ccdb cs shock. Regards sag have you had a look on the cane creek site?
For the rune they have a full set up instructions, obviously some settings are personal preference but it's a starting point.
I've been running 20mm sag and it feels great.
Very impressed by the shock if feels night and day better than the debonair I had before.
Knowing the sag percentages to a fraction of a mm means you can make the rounding / approximating decisions yourself. 0.5mm difference in sag is equivalent to a 5lb change in rider weight, more if you're big - if your morning ablutions are that large you need to seek medical help! 😛
Do you get repeatable sag measurements? Ie sit and get off 3 times in a row, not mocking but not sure if anyone can get that level of repeat accuracy to make it worth measuring to that accuracy
No tune for the mega, they just use a standard base tune apparently. Didn't feel too far off. Grip was v. Good but needs some testing on big hits and a bit more pressure for a more a more lively feel
If it helps, I ride the 2015 Mega AM with Pikes and the same shock as you. I weigh 13st and run 170psi, feels lively and pedals well. I use 170mm cranks and don't get pedal strikes on techy climbs. I almost never use the Climb switch. I couldn't tell you the other settings off the top of my head except that I run the HS rebound really slow. This was Tf's suggestion based on the sort of terrain I ride.

I find fork sag is much harder (impossible?) to get repeatably but on my Spitfire there's so little friction in the pivots that shock sag is pretty consistent if I do the "bounce a few times, let it settle, put elbow against a wall, sit down and push the O-ring down" method, average out a few readings and ignore any spurious ones.
Not 0.1mm accurate but better than 1mm.
Cheers Cumbrian Monkey we are a similar weight so interesting. Found the climb switch quite useful as there was a significant change when on, I was running less pressure than you though.
