I'm taking one of my bikes (Giant Trance) to the US with me in August and I'm in need of a new bike bag as I gave my old one away.
What is good? What isn't too huge (just enough to hold just my bike will be fine) and if there is such a thing are there any good cheap ones about?

CRC own brand padded soft bags are fine. I just line mine with a couple of sheets of card to make stiffer.
GF has a Trance in XS. It barely fits in a planet X bag which are the same as the CRC ones. Go for a DHB bag from wiggle. Fits my large SC Heckler with Lyriks with ease.
I can easily get a large 5 Spot in a Planet-X bag. I don't see how you'd struggle with a XS Trance (unless you're leaving the wheels on!).
Bike fits but mech hangs out slightly. The wheels are off.
