I’m not “into” vintage/retro bikes but I’m after one part to replace on my 1999 mountain bike to keep it all original. What are the best websites to search other than eBay?

Retrobike, in the for sale and wanted forums

Yup, Retrobike is your best option. Also worth trying a wanted ad in the classifieds here.

+1 Retrobike, but you’d be surprised what's around on FB marketplace, bike jumbles and even STWr’s parts bin. Some of us (allegedly) aren’t very young or very organised.

What part are you after?

SJS Cycles is a good resource for older and lower spec bits. I've had a few 6/7 speed parts from them over lockdown to fix up rickety steeds.

+1 for SJS, although they tend towards road/touring. One of the few places that just keep stocking the older stuff. My old bike being a Thorn doesn't mean I'm completely biased 😉

There's an online shop (not ebay..) that does refurb'd retro parts at reasonable prices, a few of the RB members have positive things to say about it but I can't remember the name right now. Not much help I know.

Thanks all. I’m after a saddle for an Orange Evo 2. Would need to be in really good, if not new, condition to match the bike.
