Off to Wales next week for a long weekend and am just starting to think of all the things i need to ttake with me and as i have collected tools and bits of kit over the years the current bike tool box is just not big enough.

Can anyone reccomend me a good box for the weekends bike tools or is it best to get one of those plastic ones from the likes of the pound shop/halfords etc?

Just got to B&Q and pick up whichever one is the right size and in the sale, you certainly don't need a bike specific one.

Yep, B&Q, Wilkinsons etc for something that'll fit you largest tool (fnar) and fit in your car with all the other crap you'll be taking.

I use a large tin box of Foxes biscuits.

Obviously what it used to contain have long gone, as fixing a chain with a chocolate digestive would be slightly problematic!

I've a fabric tool bag, better than a box because its lighter and can be stuffed into a smaller space.

But usualy I just give my bike a propper service, strip and grease everything, replace stuff as nececary, and don't take much with me apart for a multi tool with a spoke key on it allong with a spare mech cable and some inner tubes.

If it takes more than an allen key to fix I'm probably going to need a full workshop of tools to cover every eventuality and its not worth it.
