Anyone tried it? Read a running article on it a few days ago and there's a fair bit of research about I boosting performance due to nitrates effects on the body.
Apparently 300-600ml a day in some studoes boosted endurance up to 15%.
I'm going to give it a go as I've got nowt to lose bar about £8 A week and some purple pooh.
Anyone tried it or currently have it as part of their nutrition programme?
probably better for an endurance performance would be becoming more fat adapted, `i found it boosted my ability to fuel for endurance better than purple poo

Beetrootjuice,

BEETROOTJUICE!
Yes, I've used it for years. It's so disgusting it must be good.
No idea if it works.

How old was the article? - this was something going round 4-5 years ago.
Bloke at work was doing some beetroot regime before an endurance event. All I know is was that he got sick of the flavour.
God knows it was in a running magazine at the dentist waiting room.
I didnt check the date.. could have been from the 80s for all I know lol (clearly wasnt as the pages were to bright)

Much harder to hide your competitive advantage in a pair of Bibs though.
One of those trendy theories that was doing the rounds. Check a newer mag, get on the latest bandwagon 😉

Less so on a cold winters day 😀
Yes. There's a lot of info out there to support taking it. E.g a quick google...

Guilty chuckle.
I drink all sorts of fresh fruit/vegetable juice and beetroot is one of them; can't say I've noticed a change in performance but it can't hurt to eat and drink well. If nothing else I'm rarely/never ill with colds etc.
Don't forget your juice plus and Aloe Vera pills.
