Popped into my local Halfords on Sunday (Steveneage)to get a couple of bits and thought
WHAAAAT?!?! why the bloody buggery bollocks can I never find these!?!?!
me neither I think it's just trolling 😉 I'll keep using the Hozelock!!
I got one last weekend so it's not trolling, just a quick question, anyone had any luck using a mains adaptor so you can use it sans car sometimes?
This should work: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=42702
It should, superlukey, but it doesn't. To be more specific, it seems to struggle to supply enough current and therefore is a bit intermittent. You'd be better off getting a computer SMPS, putting it in a box and wiring it straight into the dirtworker.
You need a regulated one then like this. This is even cheaper: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=32754
Regards.
Cheers RichPenny but think that sounds a bit more complicated than I was hoping for.
Elektricks not really my strongpoint.
I am pretty sure you will have no probs with the regulated one. W

Errr, dirtworkers require several times more current than that PSU will supply.
Older dirtworkers require around 6A current supply and "new" ones use 4-5A.
I got one last week from Mitcham halfords for £25 if that make you feel any better MrNutt 😆
