So, my work seem to have been over charging me for my B2W payments (though that's another issue).
How much should I be saving from the purchase price of a B2W or Cyclescheme bike? My commuter is on it's last legs and I need to consider (in a time of relative poverty) whether to snap up an ideally spec'd second hand bike or wait and get a cyclescheme bike built up for me.
So say I'm likely to spend the full £1500.
less VAT?
less NI contributions?
less PAYE tax?
is that right?
Should leave me (working out number from my payslip) paying between £850 and £900, if I get all that off.
Interest free over 18 months, plus the end of scheme buy.
Or do I get a higher spec 2nd hand bike for slightly more money all up front? On the surface it's obvious - new bike with warranty and interest free when I most need it, but the 2nd hand bike is very close to my ideal build and has a few nice upgrades!
