Hi all,

got some BB7s - trying to fit them to a post mount fork / 160 rotor - do I need an adaptor to fit it? it seems to fit ok but the supplied bolts are too long for the fork - do i just use shorter bolts or is there an adaptor for the bb7 like the bb5?

Have you fitted the Tri-align washers and spacers?

yes - all fitted - just concerned that the bolt is much too long - maybe a shorter bolt?

IMO a 160mm should fit minus an adaptor?

cheers

My XT post mount callipers with a 160mm rotor went straight on to the post mounts. If your BB7s were sold as 180mm models perhaps they'd have a bolt long enough for the 180mm adaptor?

Yes, for a 160mm rotor the calliper should fit directly onto a post mount without a spacer.

However, there are longer bolts for fitting through the adaptors for fitting larger rotors.

Are the bolts not tightening up to hold the calliper?

Hi,
I'm really stuck!
Got front bb7 for post mount forks with a 185mm rotor. Got the adapter included in box but cant work out how to put it on. I'm not very good when comes to mechanics. The adapter does not seem to fit properley and the longest bolts seem to be different sizes. When I put all the washers and stuff on, there seems very little thread to attach it to the forks.

Thanks.

Surely the length of th ebolt is to accomodate the V-brake spacing washers, not a bigger rotor, whiich needs a different adaptor.

dmanning...pics? Also...there may be a direction arrow on the mount.
